Editorial Policy
These are the standards we hold ourselves to. They exist so you know what you are reading and where it came from.
Sourcing
We link to primary sources wherever they exist. The research paper, the regulatory filing, the company announcement, the court document. If a claim rests on another outlet’s reporting, we say so and link to them. We do not present other publications’ scoops as our own.
Accuracy and corrections
We check claims before publishing. When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a note at the bottom of the article explaining what changed and when. We do not quietly edit errors out of existence. Significant corrections stay visible permanently.
Spotted a mistake? Tell us through the contact page and we will look at it promptly.
Developing stories
AI moves quickly and early reports are often wrong. When a story is still unfolding, we label it as developing, state plainly what is confirmed and what is not, and update the article as facts firm up rather than publishing speculation as fact.
Reporting versus opinion
Analysis and commentary are published under the Opinion category and labelled as such. News reporting stays separate from our views about it.
Independence and disclosure
Sponsored content, affiliate links and paid placements are disclosed clearly within the article where they appear. Advertisers have no say over our editorial coverage, and no article is written, altered or withheld because of a commercial relationship. Where we hold a relevant financial interest in a company we cover, we disclose it.
Use of AI in our workflow
[REVIEW THIS SECTION. It must describe what you actually do.] We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting and editing. Every article is reviewed by a person before publication, and we take full responsibility for everything we publish regardless of the tools used to produce it.
Right of reply
If we report critically on a company or individual, we seek comment before publishing where practical, and note when comment was requested and not received. Subjects of our coverage can respond at any time through the contact page.
